Location: Remote (Initial 3-Day Onsite Orientation in Sacramento, CA, 100% Remote for remainder of the contract)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced WebMethods Integration Developer to support enterprise integration and API development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining integrations between enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and third-party applications. This role will support critical technology projects involving API development, middleware solutions, SAP integrations, and secure enterprise connectivity.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project resources to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable integration solutions across a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RESTful and SOAP web service APIs supporting enterprise integrations.
  • Develop integrations between ERP, GIS, asset management, project controls, document management, and other enterprise systems.
  • Build and maintain webMethods integration services and middleware solutions.
  • Develop SAP RFC integrations and custom Java-based services.
  • Design event-driven integrations supporting asynchronous processing and system interoperability.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security controls.
  • Create and maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI standards.
  • Develop monitoring, logging, alerting, and error-handling processes.
  • Support unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Assist with automated regression testing initiatives.
  • Document technical solutions and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical resources to ensure successful project delivery.

Required:

  • WebMethods Expertise: Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing and implementing solutions on the webMethods integration platform.
  • webMethods.IO Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with webMethods.IO (Cloud Integration).
  • SAP Integration Experience: Proven experience developing SAP RFC (Remote Function Call) integrations.
  • Java Development: Demonstrated experience developing custom integration services using Java.
  • Enterprise Integration Technologies: Senior-level experience with Integration Server, Universal Messaging, API Gateway, webMethods Test Suite, EDI/TN (Trading Networks), Java Service Development, and webMethods.IO.
  • API Development: Experience designing, developing, and supporting RESTful and SOAP web services utilizing JSON and XML data formats.
  • Security & Authentication: Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and other enterprise authentication and authorization protocols.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience supporting unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing efforts.
  • Documentation & Communication: Strong verbal, written, and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred:

  • Trading Networks Experience: Experience with EDI/TN and B2B integrations.
  • Industry Certifications: Software AG Certified webMethods Developer, MuleSoft, AWS, Azure, PMP, or related certifications.
  • Public Sector or Utilities Experience: Prior experience supporting utility, energy, or public-sector organizations.
  • Cybersecurity Knowledge: Experience implementing secure software development practices and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Identity & Access Management: Experience supporting secure authentication, authorization, and access management solutions.
  • Automation Experience: Experience supporting automated regression testing and integration quality initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Range: $60.00 - $85.00/Hour DOE
