This is a full-time remote role for a WordPress Developer. The WordPress Developer will build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins based on project requirements and design specifications. Daily responsibilities include implementing front-end layouts, configuring back-end functionality, optimizing performance, and ensuring responsive, accessible user experiences across devices and browsers. The role also involves troubleshooting site issues, applying security best practices, integrating third-party tools and APIs, and collaborating with designers, project managers, and other developers. The developer will contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of development workflows and standards.
Qualifications
- Strong front-end development skills, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Responsive Web Design.
- Experience with Web Design principles and translating design mockups into functional WordPress interfaces.
- Solid Web Development and Back-End Web Development skills, including PHP, WordPress core, theme and plugin development, and integration with external services or APIs.
- Demonstrated experience in Front-End Development for WordPress, including performance optimization, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility best practices.
- Hands-on experience configuring and managing WordPress environments (themes, plugins, security, backups, and updates).
- Familiarity with version control systems (such as Git) and modern development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience with page builders, custom fields, WooCommerce, or other common WordPress extensions.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
