Job Description
As a WordPress Website Developer at Web Ascend Performance Agency, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high‑performing WordPress websites for clients. You will work closely with designers, content creators, and SEO specialists to build user‑friendly, optimized, and scalable WordPress solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet client requirements.
- Optimize websites for performance, speed, and SEO best practices.
- Implement responsive and mobile‑friendly designs across all devices.
- Troubleshoot and debug WordPress issues, including plugin conflicts, broken pages, and database issues.
- Manage and integrate third‑party APIs, plugins, and tools to enhance functionality.
- Ensure website security and backups, protecting against vulnerabilities and threats.
- Convert Figma, Adobe XD, or PSD designs into fully functional WordPress websites.
- Implement custom functionalities using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Set up and manage WooCommerce stores (for eCommerce projects).
- Collaborate with content teams to ensure proper on‑page SEO structure.
- Stay updated on the latest WordPress trends, updates, and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a strong portfolio of live websites.
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and WordPress Codex.
- Experience with custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
- Strong understanding of SEO, website performance optimization, and accessibility.
- Familiarity with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg).
- Experience with WooCommerce, payment gateways, and eCommerce functionality.
- Knowledge of cPanel, hosting environments, and domain management.
- Experience with REST API and third‑party integrations.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
