Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring Data Center Technicians for its Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). The program spans 12 months and will place trainees at one of our facilities in Huesca or Zaragoza. Applicants must report to a site location and be based in Spain with the right to work.

As a data center technician you will support the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. You will work with a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to maintain high standards of safety and security while enhancing performance and capacity.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix, and troubleshooting of network issues;
    respond to operational incidents that impact service availability and involve senior technicians and management as needed.
  • Conduct server upgrades, rebuilds, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Meet service‑level agreements on assigned trouble tickets through a directed workflow.
  • Serve as the first‑line point of contact for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
  • Identify and help create process improvements relevant to the data center environment.
  • Complete all components of the 12‑month WBLP curriculum, including safety certifications, technical competencies, and performance milestones.

Physical requirements

  • Regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds;
    participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Work in 24/7 environments, participating in primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed.
  • Operate within cramped, elevated, or noisy settings.
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk continuously for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
  • Tolerate non‑climate‑controlled environments with temperature fluctuations.

  • Take ownership of technical issues from our customer base, collaborating with other teams to drive resolution.
  • Resolve problems at the root and understand the broader impact.
  • Maintain service level agreements through proactive detection and reporting of issues.

Basic qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Currently based in Spain and authorized to work without employer intervention.

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems.
