Job Description:
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (DevOps) to join a global payments/fintech client's Cloud Infrastructure – Edge team in Vancouver, BC. This is a hands-on infrastructure engineering role focused on building, scaling, and securing cloud-native systems on AWS.

What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and manage AWS infrastructure — VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, ELB, Route 53 (resolver endpoints, DNS firewall), Security Groups/NACLs, AWS Firewall, VPC flow logs
- Build and scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters from the ground up
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible/Chef
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Argo CD
- Implement and maintain observability using Prometheus
- Write automation and tooling in Go, Python, and Bash
- Manage and tune Linux/UNIX systems — performance, memory, I/O, RAID, and security hardening
- Support MySQL/PostgreSQL infrastructure and load balancing/service mesh configurations
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of hands-on Linux/UNIX systems experience
- Strong, demonstrable experience with AWS core networking and Kubernetes/EKS
- Proficiency in Terraform, Jenkins/Argo CD, and Prometheus
- Strong scripting/programming ability in Go and Python
- Rust experience is a plus
- Must be based in Vancouver, BC or hold valid Canadian work authorization (this is a hybrid role — 3 days/week onsite is mandatory)
