Realitade is building a AI-native real estate technology ecosystem for Europe, starting in Portugal.
The goal is to connect properties, professional services, AI-powered workflows, investment intelligence, and trusted transaction into one ecosystem.
We are looking for founding-level people who understand, or are committed to deeply learning, how the real estate market works from A to Z: buyers, sellers, agents, developers, architects, construction companies, lawyers, investors, banks, regulation, transactions, and cross-border expansion.
This is not a place for isolated individual contributors. We need people who communicate clearly, challenge ideas constructively and collaborate with an open-mind with co-workers.
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build the core systems behind a complex real-estate platform.
Responsibilities
- Polyglot Architecture: Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency APIs and event-driven micro-services using the optimal tool for the job (Java, Python, Node.Js, or Go ).
- Real-Estate Data Engineering: Architect robust, fault-tolerant ETL pipelines to ingest, normalize, and sync complex real-estate data sources and CRMs, ensuring high availability and real-time synchronization.
- AI: Build and scale production-ready RAG pipelines, embedding workflows, and vector search systems using Python, LangChain, and vector databases.
- DevOps/Infrastructure: Containerize multi-language environments, establish strict CI/CD patterns, and manage secure, monitored production deployments on cloud infrastructure.
- Design clean, predictable API contracts that seamlessly bridge complex backends with high-performance frontend frameworks like Next.Js and Angular .
Qualifications
- Professional experience building and scaling polyglot backend architectures within distributed systems or monorepo environments.
- Strong proficiency in at least two of the following:: Java (Spring), Python (FastAPI/Django), Node.Js (NestJS/Expressjs), or Go .
- Proven ability to weigh technical tradeoffs and select the optimal language/framework based on concurrency, data needs, and execution speed.
- Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL ), caching layers (Redis ), and vector extensions/databases.
- Location Constraint: Based in Portugal (or willing to relocate/spend significant time locally) is mandatory.
Compensation:
This is an equity-based founding or early leadership position, not a conventional salaried role at this stage. The selected candidate may receive an agreed ownership stake in the company. For senior leadership roles, the position may include a CTO, COO, Head of AI, or other leadership title depending on profile and responsibilities.
A board seat may be considered subject to legal formalities.
The company will actively target funding so the team can focus on engineering, product development, and market execution. A salary may be introduced after defined funding or revenue milestones are reached.
