Job Description – Team Lead
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Backend Java Team Lead to lead a team in designing,
developing, and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications. The
ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, cloud-native technologies, system design,
databases, and multi-cloud platforms (AWS & GCP), along with experience leading
engineering teams, mentoring developers, driving technical decisions, and delivering
enterprise-grade software solutions.
The role involves providing technical leadership, overseeing solution design and
implementation, promoting engineering best practices, collaborating with cross-functional
teams, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence of backend
platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Design, develop, and optimize database solutions using SQL, Spring, and
relational/NoSQL databases, ensuring performance, security, and data integrity.
Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS and GCP, ensuring
interoperability, high availability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform (IaC) across multi-cloud
environments.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to deliver
scalable backend solutions.
Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and operational costs.
Ensure applications are secure, observable, and compliant with organizational
standards.
Guide, mentor, and review the work of the engineering team.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve system reliability and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Java
Strong proficiency in Java (JDK 11 & 17+).
Expertise in backend development, OOP, Effective Java, and design patterns.
Spring Framework
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
Experience building RESTful microservices.
Cloud Platforms
Strong experience with AWS and GCP.
Experience building cloud-native and multi-cloud applications.
Infrastructure & DevOps
Terraform (IaC).
CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure automation.
Architecture
Microservices and distributed systems.
Cross-cloud architecture.
High availability, resiliency, performance, and cost optimization.
Engineering Practices
Code reviews.
Agile/Scrum.
Observability and monitoring.
Production troubleshooting.
Security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing enterprise-scale backend systems.
Experience working in multi-cloud environments.
Knowledge of distributed system design patterns.
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
Familiarity with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
