Job Summary
Client is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer with extensive hands-on AWS development experience. This is a true development role, not an architect-only or management position. Candidates must have a strong software development background and remain actively involved in coding.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS cloud technologies, Python, Lambda, Terraform, and API development, along with experience supporting cloud migration initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- 14+ years of overall IT experience (15+ years preferred)
- 10+ years of U.S. work experience
- 15+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud Engineering preferred
- Strong hands-on development experience in Python
- Previous enterprise Java development experience
- Minimum 5+ years of Python development
- Extensive experience developing AWS Lambda functions
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience building and consuming APIs
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and system design
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow through on commitments
- Strategic mindset with the ability to design scalable cloud solutions
- AWS Certifications preferred:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
Preferred Experience
- AWS cloud migration projects (On-Premises to AWS)
- Modernizing Java applications into Python-based cloud solutions
- Event-driven architecture using Kafka
- Enterprise-scale AWS environments
Project Environment
- AWS Migration (On-Prem AWS)
- New development primarily in Python
- Legacy applications developed in Java
- Heavy usage of AWS Lambda
- Infrastructure managed through Terraform
Important Notes
- This is a hands-on developer position. Candidates must be actively coding.
- Architects or Leads are considered only if they remain highly hands-on.
- Candidates who have transitioned into management or architecture without coding are unlikely to be selected.
- Strong AWS development experience is significantly more important than Azure experience.
- AWS Lambda expertise is a critical requirement.
- Rate is flexible for highly qualified senior candidates. The client prioritizes talent over rate.
