Join a large Queensland Government organisation delivering innovative digital and cloud transformation initiatives. You'll be part of a modern technology team focused on improving service delivery through cloud-native platforms, automation and emerging technologies. This is a Brisbane-based contract opportunity offering an initial term to December 31st 2026 with potential extensions, with the opportunity to contribute to a significant program of work focused on modern cloud engineering, automation and AI-enabled services. Previous Queensland Government or broader State Government experience will be highly regarded.
Your new role
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you'll help build the cloud foundations that enable new digital products and AI-enabled services to move from concept to production.Working across engineering, architecture and security teams, you'll drive Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation and cloud best practices while helping shape DevOps standards across the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong AWS cloud engineering experience
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling
- GitHub, GitOps and DevSecOps experience
- Python and/or Bash scripting skills
- Strong understanding of networking, security and cloud operations
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable:
- AWS and/or Terraform certifications
- Kafka, Azure or data platform experience
- Exposure to AI/ML, analytics or modern platform technologies
