Job Description
We're looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer to help build, maintain, and scale the infrastructure that powers our game development pipeline. You'll work closely with programmers, technical artists, and QA to keep build systems fast, reliable, and painless — so the team can focus on making great games instead of fighting tools.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for game builds across multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile)
Manage and optimize build farms, automated build systems, and nightly/CI build processes
Maintain source control infrastructure (Perforce, Git/Git LFS) including branching strategies, repo health, and performance tuning
Automate packaging, deployment, and distribution to platform storefronts (Steam, console cert submission tools, app stores) and internal QA builds
Monitor build pipeline health, diagnose failures, and reduce build/iteration times
Support and improve automated testing infrastructure (smoke tests, regression suites, crash reporting integration)
Manage cloud and on-prem infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes/Docker) supporting build servers, backend services, or live-ops tooling
Write and maintain internal tools/scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to streamline developer workflows
Collaborate with engineering leads to define infrastructure needs for upcoming projects and platform requirements
Own incident response for pipeline/build outages, including root cause analysis and postmortems
Document processes and provide support/training to programmers and technical staff using the pipeline
Coordinate with the engine team and technical leads to communicate required features and share best practices.
Work closely with game development teams to integrate Unreal Engine features seamlessly into studio games, providing technical solutions and troubleshooting assistance.
Provide flexible support to team members during critical development stages, ensuring project milestones are met on time.
Qualifications
What you need to succeed
2-3 years of experience in DevOps, build engineering, or infrastructure roles (game industry experience a strong plus)
Solid scripting/programming ability (Python, C#, Bash, or similar)
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar)
Hands-on experience with version control systems at scale, especially Perforce and/or Git (Git LFS)
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Comfortable working cross-functionally with programmers, artists, and producers
Strong troubleshooting skills and a bias toward automating repetitive work
Nice to have
Experience with Unreal Engine
Understanding of build processes for game engines (Unity, Unreal, or proprietary engines)
Experience with console cert/submission pipelines (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch)
Familiarity with live-ops backend services and telemetry pipelines
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)
Experience scaling build infrastructure for a live-service or multi-title studio
What You’ll Gain
Mentorship from experienced engine programmers
Exposure to real-world AAA development
Hands-on experience with production-level codebases
Opportunity to contribute to shipped titles
Networking opportunities within the games industry
