We have an exciting opportunity for a Courseware Designer & Technical Trainer to join our UK Services team undertaking training analysis, design, delivery and evaluation to customer requirements within defence and commercial environments. You will have a hands-on approach, working closely with engineers, service teams and customers to deliver engaging training solutions that enable end users to operate, maintain and support cutting-edge capabilities.

What will you be doing?

As a Courseware Designer & Trainer, you will support the full training lifecycle, working independently and collaboratively to develop high-quality learning solutions for customers and end users.

  • Designing, developing and maintaining courseware in accordance with DSAT, JSP 822, S6000T and industry best practice.
  • Delivering engaging product and technical training to customer and end-user communities.
  • Creating instructor-led, practical and digital learning content.
  • Conducting training analysis and supporting the development of effective learning solutions.
  • Working closely with customers and stakeholders to define training requirements and programme deliverables.
  • Translating complex technical information into accessible and engaging training materials.
  • Evaluating training effectiveness and analysing learner feedback and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing and maintaining digital learning content and training documentation.
  • Supporting compliance with customer, regulatory and company standards.
  • Contributing to team planning, quality, risk management and continuous improvement activities.

About You

You will be a passionate learning professional with experience designing and delivering training within a technical, engineering, defence or similarly regulated environment.

  • Experience across the training lifecycle including analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation.
  • Experience working within defence or engineering environments.
  • Experience developing and delivering training programmes and courseware.
  • Knowledge and application of DSAT and/or S6000T, ADDIE methodologies.
  • Experience creating and maintaining digital learning content.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and courseware authoring tools.
  • Qualification in training, learning, instructional design or courseware development.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
