About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on, business-oriented Senior Data Scientist with strong experience in forecasting, predictive modeling, and optimization .
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys using data to solve practical business problems and can move comfortably between predictive modeling, exploratory data analysis, SQL queries, Excel-based analyses, and urgent stakeholder requests.
The successful candidate will focus on delivering measurable business value through pragmatic analytical solutions. This is not a research-oriented or GenAI-focused position. We are looking for someone who understands that the best solution is often the simplest approach that reliably answers the business need.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement forecasting and predictive models to support business planning and decision-making.
- Build demand forecasting and time-series solutions using Python and SQL.
- Develop optimization and product allocation models.
- Analyze supply chain, inventory, allocation, and demand-planning challenges.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Respond to ad hoc analytical requests and urgent business questions.
- Extract, manipulate, and analyze data using SQL, Python, and Excel.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and define practical analytical solutions.
- Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Balance longer-term analytical initiatives with immediate business priorities.
- Select the most effective tool or methodology for each problem, from spreadsheets and SQL queries to predictive and optimization models.
Required Qualifications
- Proven professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
- Strong experience with forecasting, predictive analytics, and time-series modeling.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Advanced analytical skills using Excel.
- Experience developing optimization models or solving decision-science and operations-research problems.
- Strong exploratory data analysis and data interpretation skills.
- Ability to translate business questions into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and prioritize competing requests.
- Must be based in Brazil and available to work remotely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting supply chain, inventory, product allocation, retail, or demand-planning teams.
- Experience building analytical solutions used in real business operations.
- Familiarity with production-level forecasting or optimization solutions.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.

You should be equally comfortable developing a forecasting model, investigating an unexpected business trend, writing SQL queries, creating an Excel analysis, or presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
