Filter Assembler A&D
Porvair Filtration Group is an innovative, rapidly growing, global leader in the development and supply of materials and products for applications in filtration and separation.
We are currently hiring for a Filter Assembler A&D in our Ashland, VA location. The Filter Assembler A&D involves the most complex tasks to assemble or fabricate filters using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications and quality standards. This role includes working with minimal supervision and performing regular quality checks.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Advanced Assembly of Filter Components
- Assemble filter components by following detailed instructions, basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, written specifications, bills of materials, and/or job cards.
- Ensure all components are accurately aligned and secured during assembly.
- Safely operate machinery and hand-held tools to cut, shape, and secure materials as required.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to documented engineering specification changes.
- Quality Control
- Inspect assembled filters or parts for defects or inconsistencies to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform routine tests and/or quality work checks on filters to verify their functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Material Handling
- Handle and organize materials and components needed for filter assembly.
- Keep track of inventory levels and report any shortages or issues in workstations.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of production output, defects, and material usage related to technical documentation requirements.
- Report any issues with machinery, tools, or materials to supervisors.
- Maintenance and Safety
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used in the assembly process.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Other relevant duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications / Training Required
- High school education or equivalent, and 1-2 years of assembly experience preferred.
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Ability to interpret and follow engineering designs and documentation.
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Common sense, self-motivated good time manager, dedication, and a high degree of self-accountability.
