The team
We work with one of Northern Europe's leading streaming platforms — a company that combines original content with premium live sports rights (Formula 1, Champions League, Premier League, NHL and more). Listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, the tech team spans Stockholm and Barcelona, working as true equals.
The Commerce Services team builds and maintains the cross-cutting platform services that power everything else: login, account creation, transactional emails, eligibility rules (who can buy what, based on country and subscription type), and the full commercial journey from first visit to active subscriber. If the platform works as a whole, it's largely because of this team. They collaborate closely across engineering squads, run bi-weekly backend guild sessions, and make architectural decisions that impact the entire organisation.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and maintaining core platform services in Node.js and TypeScript
- Managing infrastructure autonomously on AWS — Lambdas, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, event-driven architecture
- Using Python for infrastructure scripting and AWS configuration
- Contributing to architecture decisions and defending your technical reasoning with peers
- Mentoring teammates and participating in bi-weekly backend guild sessions
- Collaborating proactively across squads to unblock dependencies and drive alignment
- Contributing to frontend (React) when the context requires full-stack involvement
What we're looking for
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript — you’re comfortable owning complex platform services
- Real architectural mindset: you think in systems, not just features
- Hands‑on experience with AWS (Lambdas, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS) and event‑driven design
- Ability to manage your own infrastructure — no DevOps team to hand off to
- Python for infrastructure and cloud configuration
- Rigorous testing culture: unit, integration, E2E
- Fluent English — you’ll be syncing with Stockholm regularly
Nice to have
- Background in platform, enablement, or infrastructure teams
- Experience with high‑traffic or transactional systems
- Track record of building trust across engineering teams, not just within your own squad
