PAD Civil is an Australian civil and utilities contractor
(Melbourne, Geelong and Regional Victoria) building a structured
estimating and commercial data platform to connect our tendering,
production tracking and financial reporting into a single system.
We're looking for a full-stack developer to join us full-time,
remotely from the Philippines, as the primary builder and long-term
technical partner for this platform.
THE ROLE
You will implement a fully defined data platform against a clear
technical specification. The hard thinking — schema design, data
model, business logic, code conventions — is already done. Your
job is to build it well, maintain it, and extend it as we grow.
This is a long-term role. We want someone who learns our business,
owns the codebase, and grows with the platform as we expand across
more disciplines and data sources.
WHAT YOU'LL BUILD
Phase 1 — Postgres database + reference data load + React admin
interface (add/edit asset codes, rates, crew templates)
Phase 2 — Estimation engine (calculation logic, geometry engine,
tender input interface replacing our Excel workflows)
Phase 3 — Cost tracking (Assignar timesheeting API, Xero
accounting API, plant cost overlay, PM tracker)
Phase 4 — Claude AI integration (Anthropic API) for estimate
self-review and benchmarking against historical data
Phase 5 — Reporting dashboards and monthly business report
automation
TECH STACK
- Postgres 16 (managed cloud — AWS RDS or Azure)
- Node.js (Express) or Python (FastAPI) — your preference
- React (admin interface and tracker)
- REST API design and development
- Third-party integrations: Xero API, Assignar, Anthropic API
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years experience with Postgres and REST API development
- Comfortable across the full stack — backend, API, React frontend
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs
- Clean, documented code — you'll be the only developer, so
maintainability matters
- Reliable communication in English and AEST-compatible hours
- Construction or trade industry experience is a bonus but
not required — the spec compensates
