Lead Full Stack Developer - Specialist I, Software Engineering
Join UST as a Lead Full Stack Developer and help shape modern, cloud native platforms used by millions while mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of scalable, maintainable full stack applications
- Set technical direction across development, architecture, and platform improvements
- Work within an Agile squad alongside engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders
- Coach and support team members, fostering a healthy, inclusive, and high performing team culture
- Translate complex AI, cloud, and architectural concepts into clear actionable insights for non technical stakeholders
- Design and enhance CI/CD pipelines, including automation and agent based integrations
- Act as an in house technical expert, resolving complex engineering challenges
- Identify delivery risks early and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience building end to end production grade applications
- Strong front end expertise with Angular (React experience is a plus)
- Deep backend experience with Java or Node.js
- 2+ years hands on cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or OpenShift), including Docker and Kubernetes
- Advanced Git skills, including branching and merging strategies
- Hands on experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning, and deployments
- Ability to translate Figma designs into high quality, pixel perfect UI code
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and software design patterns
- Experience working in high frequency delivery environments, shipping to production daily
- Proven use of AI assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Claude Code) to improve developer productivity
- Production support experience using observability tools like Splunk or Dynatrace
- Experience integrating intelligent agents into CI/CD pipelines for automation of reviews, testing, and deployments
Location and Compensation
Ontario – Hybrid. Compensation Range: $115,000 – $144,000.

Full‑time employees accrue a minimum of 10 days paid vacation per year, 6 days paid sick leave, paid holidays, and paid bereavement leave.
