Job Summary:
The Senior Full Stack Software Developer will play a key role in enhancing the Health System Insights Portal by developing and maintaining scalable, user-focused enterprise business intelligence applications. This role involves translating technical specifications into high-quality frontend and backend code, collaborating closely with UI/UX designers, and ensuring robust performance and support across environments within an Agile development framework.
Responsibilities:
- Translate technical system specifications into tested, functional applications.
- Develop detailed specifications and write frontend and backend code using modern technologies.
- Compile data-driven programs and maintain automated testing suites.
- Resolve and troubleshoot software issues during implementation, conversion, and migration phases.
- Evaluate architecture and technical designs, providing recommendations to product management.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement desired UI functionality and styles.
- Produce clean, reusable, and performant code to enhance platform quality.
- Diagnose and fix functional and performance issues, including preventive and corrective measures.
- Partner with Operations teams to support applications and platforms across environments.
- Create and maintain comprehensive code documentation.
- Design and develop web application features, Azure Functions, Web APIs, and code libraries.
- Build functional mock-ups and implement automated unit tests to ensure feature quality.
- Investigate and fix production issues, and conduct knowledge transfer to team members.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 5-8+ years of experience in front-end (UI) and server-side (API & Database) development.
- 5-8+ years of experience developing with C#, ASP.Net, .NET Core, JavaScript, and SQL.
- 5-8+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure services including Functions and Service Bus.
- Experience working in Agile teams using Azure DevOps SDLC.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
- Professional experience with authenticated, customer-focused applications.
- Expertise in planning and developing API endpoints and microservices.
- Proficiency with front-end frameworks and libraries, including HTML, CSS, LESS, SASS, and JavaScript.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP, REST/JSON/XML APIs, and oAUTH 2.0 standards.
- Expert-level SQL skills.
- Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA), WCAG 2.0 guidelines, and security best practices.
- Experience with FHIR and HL7 healthcare data standards.
- Familiarity with source version control workflows such as TFVC and Git.

- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
Special Considerations:
- Work requires occasional onsite presence (2 days per week) at manager's discretion.
- Preference for candidates with public sector experience.
