Job Summary:
The Senior Full Stack Software Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex web applications and data pipelines. This role requires expertise in both front-end and back-end development, ensuring scalable, high-performance solutions, and collaborating throughout the software development life cycle. The developer will troubleshoot technical issues, support application deployment, and contribute to continuous integration and delivery processes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and expand data pipelines involving extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
- Translate technical system specifications into tested, functional applications through coding, compiling, and unit testing.
- Resolve and troubleshoot software issues during implementation, conversion, and migration phases.
- Collaborate with IT professionals across all stages of the software development life cycle.
- Develop front-end and back-end components, including database design and API development.
- Implement user interfaces and deploy databases ensuring speed and scalability.
- Design and build RESTful API services and integrate them with front-end UI.
- Maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Conduct design walkthroughs and provide post-implementation support.
- Document user and system processes as required.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Proficient programming skills in Java, J2EE, JSF, HTML/DHTML, XML/XSL.
- Experience with frameworks and tools such as Spring, myBatis, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
- Strong knowledge of front-end technologies including AngularJS, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Expertise in developing n-tier web applications with Oracle or SQL Server databases.
- Experience with REST and SOAP web services and API integration.
- Proficient in SQL scripting and relational database management.
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Azure DevOps, and JIRA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with rapid application development (RAD) methodologies.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles and related policies.
- Familiarity with middleware, gateways, and product installation scripting.
- Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance.
- Experience with Java WebLogic, Tomcat, EJB, and Servlet technologies.
- Knowledge of UX/UI fundamentals and mobile platform development.
- Experience with public sector application standards, Threat Risk Assessments (TRA), and Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA).
Special Considerations:
- Must be available for 5 days onsite as required.
- Ability to provide post-implementation technical support and resolve issues promptly.
- Experience working within public sector IT standards and compliance is considered an asset.
