What we are looking for

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Full-Stack Developer who can take ownership of both front-end and back-end of our website. Our website is currently being re-platformed in React using Next.js as the front-end, Strapi as the back-end and GitHub as the code repository. The build is almost complete and this role is to support the ongoing management and optimisation of the new site.

We are estimating the role would be required 1-2 days per week. We are flexible with the contracting arrangements, including individual with an ABN or smaller agency, day or hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of our Next.js headless CMS.
• Build responsive, high-performance front-end UIs using React, Next.js, and modern CSS frameworks.
• Develop API integrations with third-party providers (Node.js / Next.js API routes).
• Help manage hosting infrastructure with our internal IT team and external suppliers (Vercel and Strapi).
• Implement and maintain security best practices.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
• Optimise site performance for speed, SEO, and accessibility.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues in production.
• Collaborate with designers and marketers to translate business needs into technical solutions.

About you

• 3+ years of full-stack web development experience.
• Strong expertise in Next.js, React, and Node.js.
• Proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with headless CMSs (ideally Strapi).
• Strong understanding of deployment pipelines and cloud hosting (Vercel, AWS, or similar).
• Ability to handle both front-end and back-end tasks.
• Knowledge of third-party integrations using APIs.
• Knowledge of performance optimisation, SEO, and accessibility standards (preferrable).
• Background in A/B testing, or personalisation (preferrable).
