We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Contractor) to design, develop, and deliver innovative software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Propose and implement engineering solutions to solve complex technical challenges.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop tools and applications by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Champion test-driven development and automated testing practices within the team.
- Collaborate closely with QA to enhance automated testing capabilities.
- Drive efficient code review, analysis, and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and refactor code while automating repetitive tasks.
- Apply security, performance, and scalability best practices in daily work.
- Document and share technical knowledge as part of your workflow.
- Work with multiple teams to deliver complex, cutting-edge software solutions.
- Promote and uphold stellar software engineering practices across the engineering team.
- Continuously explore and experiment with new technologies to benefit the team and projects.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
- Experience in front-end development with strong knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and proficiency with frameworks such as NodeJS, React, and Angular.
- Experience developing mobile-first applications with responsive UI/UX.
- Experience in developing scalable backend applications/APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and the ability to leverage relevant services or components to enhance application reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Solid understanding of third-party data transactions and security over operations such as RESTful API or WebSockets.
- Experience driving and executing automation initiatives to improve Development/QA using CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, and Jenkins.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with React Native and Flutter.
- Knowledge or experience with application logging, monitoring, and performance management tools such as Firebase App Analytics and Bugsnag.
- Experience with performance testing and load testing tools.
