About the role
As a Software Engineering Intern at Dentsu Data, you’ll gain hands-on experience building AI, data and cloud-based products used by clients across Africa and globally. Working alongside experienced engineers, data scientists and AI specialists, you’ll contribute to real product features while developing your skills in areas such as Python, TypeScript, APIs and Microsoft Azure. You’ll participate in code reviews, testing and collaborative problem-solving, gaining exposure to modern software engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and improvement of software product features.
Write clear, maintainable and well-tested code.
Assist with building APIs, backend services and user-facing applications.
Contribute to cloud-based, data and AI-powered solutions.
Test software, investigate issues and help resolve bugs.
Participate in code reviews and team engineering practices.
Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, AI specialists and product managers.
Learn and apply new technologies through mentoring and hands-on project work.
Minimum Requirements
Undergraduate final year / Degree (Computer Science / Information System
Technical Skills Required
Basic proficiency in Python, TypeScript or JavaScript
Understanding of programming fundamentals and software development principles
Familiarity with Git and version control
Basic knowledge of APIs and databases
Understanding of software testing and debugging
Ability to write clear, readable and maintainable code
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, preferably Microsoft Azure
Experience gained through academic, personal or internship projects
