Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and support scalable, high-performance backend applications and data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, relational databases, and enterprise data warehouses, with prior experience working with Teradata or similar data warehouse technologies.
Experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI, LangGraph, or LangChain is a strong plus and will be valuable as the organization continues to explore AI-enabled applications and intelligent automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build robust RESTful APIs and microservices supporting banking and enterprise applications.
- Develop efficient database solutions, including complex SQL queries, stored procedures, data access layers, and performance optimization.
- Work with Teradata or similar enterprise data warehouse platforms to support large-scale data processing and analytics.
- Integrate backend services with relational databases, data warehouses, and enterprise systems.
- Analyze technical requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Troubleshoot application and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions.
- Collaborate with architects, frontend developers, data engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
- Follow best practices for coding, testing, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to the development and adoption of AI-enabled capabilities, including Agentic AI and LLM-based applications, where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong backend development experience building enterprise-scale applications and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with Teradata or similar enterprise data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks SQL.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software development best practices.
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments is preferred.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI-powered applications.
- Exposure to Agentic AI architectures.
- Experience with LangGraph and/or LangChain.
- Experience developing AI agents, RAG-based applications, prompt workflows, or LLM integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, event-driven architecture, Kafka, or containerized environments.
- Experience with CI/CD and modern software engineering practices.
