Java Full-Stack Developer

Citi is looking for a Java Full-Stack Developer to join its Technology team and play a hands-on role in building, enhancing, and securing application systems that directly support global financial services operations. In this mid-level role, you will work across the full development stack — from designing RESTful APIs and back-end services to contributing to front-end interfaces — while actively integrating AI-powered tools to sharpen development workflows. Responsibilities

• Design and develop full-stack application features using Java and Spring Boot on the back end, with contributions to front-end components built on modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Build and consume RESTful APIs to enable seamless integration between application layers and external systems.

• Write and optimize PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers within Oracle database environments to support reliable and performant data operations.

• Integrate AI-assisted development tools into coding, testing, and deployment workflows to improve delivery speed and code quality.

• Identify application vulnerabilities and security gaps through structured code analysis, testing, and debugging, then implement targeted fixes.

• Collaborate with technology teams, business users, and clients to diagnose technical issues and deliver well-reasoned programming solutions.

• Support and mentor junior analysts by sharing technical knowledge and guiding them through problem-solving approaches.

• Uphold risk and compliance standards in all development decisions, ensuring code and system changes align with applicable policies and controls.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 4 to 6 years of experience in application development within the financial services industry.

• Proficiency in Java as a server-side language, with practical knowledge of Spring Boot for back-end development.

• Hands-on experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs in a production environment.

• Solid SQL skills and a working knowledge of Oracle databases, including writing PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, and triggers, and applying indexing strategies for query performance.

• Proficiency with Git and standard branching workflows, with familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective technical solutions with limited supervision.

• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of a modern JavaScript front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Experience with Node.js as an alternative or complementary server-side language.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and a track record of applying them to improve coding or testing workflows.

• Exposure to data modeling concepts and relational database design beyond query writing.
