Are you an experienced Java Developer with a genuine interest in AI and modern software engineering?
For a Belgian fintech company, we’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a team building a real-time transaction monitoring platform. This is more than a traditional Java role: you’ll help shape how AI is integrated into the software delivery lifecycle while maintaining high standards for software quality, security and engineering excellence.

What you’ll be working on
- Design, develop and maintain Java-based backend services
- Build scalable microservices and event-driven solutions
- Contribute to real-time transaction processing systems
- Explore and implement AI-assisted development practices across the software delivery lifecycle
- Collaborate on architecture, solution design and engineering best practices
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with analysts, architects and fellow engineers in an Agile environment

What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of professional Java development experience
- Strong knowledge of the Spring ecosystem
- Experience building REST APIs and microservices
- Passion for software craftsmanship and engineering best practices
- Interest in AI-assisted software development and modern developer tooling
- Familiarity with testing practices such as TDD or BDD
- Experience working in Agile teams
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Experience with messaging systems, container platforms, cloud technologies or AI/ML integrations is considered a strong plus.
