Med/Senior Java Developer - (Permanent)
About the Project
Our client, a leading company in the insurance sector, is undergoing a major IT transformation program aimed at modernizing its application landscape by progressively migrating legacy mainframe systems to modern Java technologies.
To support this long-term transformation, we are looking for a Java Developer with knowledge of MuleSoft who is eager to work on business-critical applications and integration projects within Agile teams.
Med/Senior Java Developer (Java + MuleSoft) - THE JOB:
As a Java Developer, you will contribute to the development and modernization of enterprise applications while supporting integration initiatives using MuleSoft.
Working closely with developers, analysts, testers, Scrum Masters and Product Owners, you will play an active role in delivering high-quality software within an Agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java applications
- Participate in the migration of legacy applications to modern technologies
- Design and develop APIs and integrations using MuleSoft
- Analyze technical and functional requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies
- Ensure code quality, performance and maintainability
- Support application modernization and digital transformation initiatives

Profile
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Java Developer
- Strong Java development skills
- Knowledge or practical experience with MuleSoft
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working in transformation and modernization projects
- Dutch speaker (mandatory) +EN
Nice to Have
- Experience in the insurance sector
- Exposure to COBOL or Mainframe environments
- Experience with enterprise integration platforms
- Participation in large-scale transformation programs
