Job Description
1. Technical Analysis & Solution Design
- Translate functional requirements into detailed technical analysis and implementation specifications.
- Analyse impacts on Java applications, APIs, backend services, interfaces, databases, and dependent systems.
- Identify technical dependencies, constraints, risks, and integration challenges.
- Define and document API contracts, interface behaviours, message flows, data mappings, and error-handling mechanisms.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and quality gates.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated tests.
- Support testers by explaining technical scenarios, interface behaviours, integration flows, and expected results.
- Participate in test preparation, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet quality, performance, security, and maintainability requirements.
2. Soft Skills
Mandatory
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand complex application and integration landscapes.
- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to propose pragmatic and maintainable solutions.
- Ownership and accountability for the quality and completeness of both analysis and development activities.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
3. Hard Skills
- Strong Java development and technical analysis skills (Java 21/25 preferred).
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with backend development, distributed systems, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Ability to analyse and implement API contracts, payloads, message flows, data mappings, and system integrations.
- Experience designing and developing secure, maintainable, and scalable applications.
- Understanding of end-to-end integration between Java applications, mainframe systems, and external partners.
- Experience working within Agile squads and contributing to iterative delivery.
4. Tools
Development & Analysis
- IntelliJ IDEA and/or Visual Studio Code.
- GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or equivalent source control platforms.
- Maven or Gradle.
API & Integration
- Postman, Bruno, Insomnia, SoapUI.
- Swagger / OpenAPI specification tools.
CI/CD & DevOps
- Jenkins.
- GitLab CI.
- CI/CD and deployment automation platforms.
Agile & Collaboration
- Jira, Octane, Rally, or equivalent Agile tools.
- Confluence.
- SharePoint.
- UPlant.
- BPMN and UML modelling tools.
Monitoring & Operations
- Logging, monitoring, and observability tools depending on the application landscape.
5. Knowledge
Core Technical Knowledge
- Java ecosystem and object-oriented programming concepts.
- REST APIs, backend services, integration patterns, and distributed architectures.
- API contract design and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
- Message formats, payload modelling, and data mapping.
- System integration between Java applications, mainframe systems, and external platforms.
- Secure coding practices and application security principles.
- Performance, resilience, logging, monitoring, and observability concepts.
- Testing practices including unit, integration, and automated testing.
- Version control, dependency management, and software delivery lifecycle.
Delivery & Engineering Practices
- CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and quality gates.
- Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Technical impact analysis across multiple applications and teams.
- Collaboration with analysts, developers, architects, testers, and operational teams.
Domain Knowledge
Banking, payments, cards, and digital banking domains are considered significant assets for the Estreem project.
