Hiring Material Handler - Construction Supplies Distributor in Outdoor Environment

Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Material Handler to support our production and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for moving, loading, unloading, staging, and organizing materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
This is a highly physical position and is not a typical indoor warehouse job. Candidates must be comfortable performing strenuous labor throughout the day and working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow. The ideal candidate understands the physical demands of the role and is prepared to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move materials safely and efficiently
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipments
- Stage and organize materials to support production and inventory needs
- Perform shipping and receiving activities, including material verification and movement
- Follow all company safety procedures and workplace guidelines
- Interpret and follow written and verbal instructions
- Assist with inventory organization, tracking, and material storage
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Perform general labor duties, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive movement
- Work outdoors regularly while handling and transporting materials throughout the facility
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a warehouse, production, manufacturing, construction, landscaping, material handling, or similar physically demanding environment
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts and pallet jacks
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience or certification
- Shipping and receiving experience
- Experience with inventory organization and material staging
- Background supporting manufacturing, production, construction, or industrial operations

This position requires continuous physical work throughout the shift and is best suited for individuals who enjoy active, hands-on labor.
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors
- Regular exposure to hot summer temperatures, cold winter temperatures, precipitation, and changing weather conditions
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Exposure to noise, dust, machinery, and moving equipment
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
