Position Summary
The Material Handler II is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within a warehouse and production environment. This role supports daily manufacturing and supply chain operations by ensuring materials are received, organized, delivered, and inventoried in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an MRP/ERP environment, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining inventory accuracy while supporting production schedules and shipping activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review production schedules, pull raw materials, and deliver materials to designated workstations.
- Verify incoming materials for quantity and quality requirements; perform receiving transactions in the ERP system and properly store inventory.
- Maintain accurate organization and storage of raw materials and inventory.
- Perform routine inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Collaborate with Inventory Control and Production teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Pick, pack, and prepare products for outbound shipments.
- Transport materials and finished goods between departments using hand trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain organized finished goods inventory and storage areas.
- Safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment to move products and materials throughout the facility.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to warehouse organization and inventory management.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an MRP/ERP environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately complete inventory and system transactions.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification preferred (training provided if needed).
- Experience using UPS and FedEx shipping software.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments.
