Material Handler
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Material Handler in Mesa, AZ for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Material Handler will support warehouse, stockroom, shipping, receiving, picking, kitting, and material movement operations. This role includes loading and unloading materials, issuing materials for production use, supporting inventory accuracy, operating material handling equipment, and assisting production operations in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
High school diploma or GED. U.S. citizenship required. Valid state driver's license with no violations. Experience lifting 30 lbs. on a regular basis. Experience operating a box truck. Forklift operating experience. Ability to load, unload, and convey materials within or near a plant, yard, or work site. Ability to pick, kit, locate, retrieve, and issue material for production use. Ability to support shipping and receiving tasks. Ability to open containers using hand tools, count and weigh materials, and record information. Ability to load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, machines, or trucks. Ability to convey materials using hand trucks, forklifts, or other devices. Ability to follow direct supervision, routine instructions, and detailed guidance for new or special activities. Ability to resolve routine questions and problems and escalate complex issues as needed.
Preferred Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills. 1+ year of warehouse or stockroom experience. Positive team-player mindset.
What You'll Do
Load, unload, and move materials within or near the facility. Pick and kit materials for production use. Accurately locate, retrieve, and issue material systemically. Support inventory integrity through cycle count schedule adherence. Convey materials using hand trucks, forklifts, or other material handling devices. Stack, assemble, and organize materials. Assist machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or using a power hoist. Support shipping and receiving operations. Open containers, count and weigh materials, and record required information. Perform standardized material handling duties and some advanced warehouse functions. Communicate with department colleagues and occasional outside contacts to exchange information or data.
Work Schedule / Shift
Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Fridays off. 4x10 schedule. No travel.
Pay: $28.71 per hour
