Key Responsibilities
Oracle Database Development
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Oracle database applications.
- Develop highly optimized and reusable PL/SQL Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, Materialized Views, Sequences, and Indexes.
- Build scalable and maintainable database solutions for high-volume transactional systems.
- Develop robust database utilities, reusable components, and automation scripts.
Advanced PL/SQL Development
- Develop complex PL/SQL programs for enterprise business applications.
- Write efficient and optimized SQL and PL/SQL code following Oracle best practices.
- Implement advanced PL/SQL concepts including:
- Bulk Collect
- FORALL
- Collections
- Dynamic SQL
- Ref Cursors
- Exception Handling
- Autonomous Transactions
- Pipelined Functions
- Object Types
- Packages
- Compound Triggers
SQL Performance Optimization
- Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries for maximum performance.
- Perform advanced query tuning using:
- Execution Plans
- Explain Plan
- SQL Trace
- TKPROF
- AWR Reports
- ASH Reports
- SQL Tuning Advisor
- Optimize joins, indexes, partitioning strategies, and database access paths.
- Eliminate performance bottlenecks in high-volume production systems.
Oracle Database Engineering
- Design logical and physical database models.
- Develop scalable database architecture for enterprise applications.
- Implement database normalization and denormalization strategies where appropriate.
- Design high-performance data structures for OLTP and reporting applications.
Database Performance Tuning
- Monitor and improve Oracle database performance.
- Tune memory structures, indexing strategies, partitioning, and storage optimization.
- Identify locking, blocking, deadlocks, and concurrency issues.
- Optimize batch processing and ETL performance.
Data Migration & Integration
- Design and support large-scale data migration initiatives.
- Develop high-performance ETL processes and database interfaces.
- Support data conversion, transformation, and synchronization projects.
- Integrate Oracle databases with enterprise applications and external systems.
Production Support
- Troubleshoot production database issues.
- Resolve SQL and PL/SQL performance problems.
- Support critical production releases and deployments.
- Participate in root cause analysis and performance improvement initiatives.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership for Oracle database development initiatives.
- Mentor junior developers on Oracle architecture, SQL optimization, and PL/SQL best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and establish database development standards.
- Collaborate with Architects, Application Developers, DBAs, QA teams, and Business Analysts.

- 18+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Development.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Experience with Oracle Exadata environments.
- Knowledge of ETL tools and data warehouse concepts.
- Experience with Shell Scripting, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure Oracle Database solutions.
- Experience working in Banking, Finance, Insurance, Healthcare, or other enterprise environments.
