  • Accurately calculates and processes bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for multiple dealerships
  • Updates master payroll records affecting wages and deductions, including federal and state exemptions, insurance coverage, pay increases, available PTO, employee transfers, benefit changes, and 401(k) elections
  • Processes garnishments and maintains accurate wage withholding records
  • Researches and resolves payroll discrepancies and errors in a timely manner
  • Understands employee payroll issues and communicates solutions effectively, professionally, and confidentially
  • Coordinates closely with Human Resources and Accounting on payroll matters and issues affecting both departments

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • At least two years of experience in automotive accounting required; prior payroll experience is a plus
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks, organize work effectively, and consistently meet payroll deadlines
  • Computer literate with accurate typing and 10-key skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling payroll records, calculations, deductions, and employee information
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to handle employee payroll questions professionally and discreetly

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role has no supervisory responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates primarily in a professional dealership accounting and administrative office environment and may involve occasional interaction with employees and managers across multiple dealership locations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and software, including computers, phones, printers, payroll systems, spreadsheets, and dealership accounting applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds independently
  • Requires frequent typing, data entry, use of a 10-key keypad, reaching, and handling of payroll documents and office materials
  • May require occasional walking, standing, bending, or travel between dealership offices as business needs require
  • Requires sufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to review detailed payroll information and operate standard office equipment
