Plant Controller Job
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Exterior Metal Finance, the Plant Controller is accountable for all financial and accounting activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with corporate policies. The position partners with plant leadership to support operational performance through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, delivering timely insights that drive cost discipline, inventory accuracy, capital effectiveness, and sustained financial results.

What You'll Do
- Month End Close, Forecasting, and Reporting
- Manage the accurate and timely close of the manufacturing ledger, including inventory valuation, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Own the budgeting process, with an emphasis on standard cost development, manufacturing variance analysis, and volume forecasting.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track key manufacturing performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics.
- Provide in-depth financial support to plant management and ensures compliance with audit requirements.
Transactional Operations
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Execute precise bi-weekly payroll processing for fewer than 25 employees, ensuring regulatory compliance and seamless integration with cost accounting records.
Business Partnership and Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Operations Management to provide actionable financial analytics, driving product costing accuracy, manufacturing variance analysis, and margin optimization.
- Support a Lean/CI culture via active participation in Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and Gemba walks, directly linking operational process improvements to financial results and inventory reduction.
- Identify, lead, and implement financial process improvement initiatives, utilizing ERP systems to enhance cost accounting accuracy and reporting efficiency.
Financial Controls and Compliance
- Implement and ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal control standards.
- Maintain inventory controls, including cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
- Ensures capital projects comply with corporate policies and deliver appropriate financial returns.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses to provide insight and support projections of future performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field required.
- 5+ years Progressive experience in plant, manufacturing, or operations finance, with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience linking operational and production metrics to financial performance and business outcomes.
- Experience using SAP preferred.
