Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the providing oversight, coordination and organization of activities appropriate for participants physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth. The Program Coordinator will assist in providing direct support to the Program Director and Assistant Program Director is responsible in assisting in providing quality programming for the needs of the participants that UAU serves within the community. The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight assistance with staff.
Primary job responsibilities include providing supervision to both staff and participants to ensure safety and ratio protocols are met, maintaining participant files and records and assisting with data entry, as directed and required, maintaining accurate attendance records on a daily basis, assisting with participant arrival and dismissal, communication with participants and families as required, modeling, enforcing, teaching and developing age appropriate social, physical and emotional behaviors, leading and/or assisting in development and implementation of outreach and deliverable programs to engage potential participants and families within the community, creating and facilitating a safe, fun and visually appealing productive learning environment for youth, employing positive behavior management strategies for disruptive and negative behaviors, demonstrating positive leadership and acting as a positive role model to participants, participating in ongoing professional development, performing set up and clean up duties every day in alignment with Department of Health regulations and UAU policies, abiding by all safety protocols as outlined by the Department of Health/ OCFS, DYCD and UAU, assuming the responsibilities of the Program Director and or Assistant Program Director in their absence, and performing other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Job qualifications include an Associates Degree preferred, High School diploma or GED required, Matriculated college student or better from an accredited university or college preferred, 1+ year experience working with children and at risk youth, ages 13 to 18 years of age, preferred, a valid drivers license, a commitment to work from a strength-based perspective, cultural competence, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong problem solving and mathematical skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, demonstrated ability to conduct and complete work independently, willingness to take initiative and be flexible when needed, and excelling working in a collaborative environment to achieve target objects and outcomes.
