Python Engineer with Mainframe

Position: Python Engineer with Mainframe (DB2/JCL)

Location: Atlanta, GA (Day 1 Onsite)

Required Skills:

1. 10+ years of experience in Python development.
2. Strong hands-on experience with z/OS USS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, OMVS, and dataset management.
3. Deep expertise in DB2 for z/OS, including SQL tuning, stored procedures, indexing, performance optimization, and DB2 utilities.
4. Advanced JCL knowledge including PROCs, GDGs, DFSORT, ICETOOL, IDCAMS, and scheduler integrations (Control-M/CA-7).
5. Experience with Python-DB2 integration using ibm_db, ODBC, or CLI.
6. Strong scripting skills in Bash/Shell.
7. Experience with Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI, Jira, and SDLC best practices.
8. Knowledge of RACF, Top Secret, or ACF2 security frameworks.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with Zowe CLI, z/OSMF REST APIs, and IBM Z Open Automation Utilities.
2. Exposure to Pandas, PyArrow, Dask, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, or IBM MQ.
3. Experience modernizing legacy COBOL/PL/I batch processes using Python.
