OUR OPPORTUNITY
As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will design, build and ship backend services that meet real customer needs — owning your work from analysis through to production. You will also help set the technical bar for those around you. In a nutshell, you'll be building and growing in a place where we truly love working, and we think you will too.
YOU WILL
» Design, develop, test and debug backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
» Own features end to end across the software lifecycle: analysis, design, implementation, integration testing and quality assurance.
» Translate client requirements into working software — delivering enhancements, resolving defects, and questioning the requirement when something doesn't add up.
» Produce designs that are simple to change, so new requirements can be absorbed quickly and safely.
» Write and maintain automated tests (unit and integration) as a normal part of delivery, not an afterthought.
» Write clear technical documentation, design notes and user guides on Confluence.
» Review your colleagues' code, mentor less experienced engineers, and raise the quality bar of the team.
» Participate in daily, weekly and monthly team ceremonies and planning.
Requirements
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU NEED
» Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
» Minimum 5 years of experience in Java development.
» Strong experience in Java (17 or later) and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
» Solid grounding in OOP, clean code principles and RESTful API design and versioning.
» Strong SQL and relational database skills, ideally PostgreSQL, including schema design and query performance.
» Practical experience building and running services in microservices or distributed architecture.
» Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, or similar).
» Comfortable with Git, code review workflows and Agile delivery.
» Secure coding awareness and an understanding of common application security risks.
» Delivery-oriented, able to manage several parallel threads of work, and comfortable with ambiguity.
» NICE TO HAVE
» Event-driven architecture and messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
» Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift).
» Identity and access management standards (OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, Keycloak).
» Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
