About LimeLedger:

LimeLedger is a specialist Sage Intacct partner focused exclusively on mid-size construction and real estate businesses across Australia and New Zealand. We help finance teams replace entry-level accounting tools with purpose-built financial management - delivering faster closes, better project visibility, and the reporting that growing businesses actually need. We operate on a two-hub model. Our Australian team owns client relationships.

Our Kenya team is the delivery engine - handling implementation, development, and technical work that makes every project run. The people who join us in Kenya now will help set the standard for how this team works as it scales.

About the role:

You will build and maintain the technical systems that power LimeLedger's delivery. That means developing customisations within Sage Intacct, building integrations between Sage Intacct and the platforms our clients use, and creating custom applications for both clients and the internal delivery team. You will also contribute to the AI-assisted workflows and migration tooling that make our implementations faster and more reliable. This is not a maintenance role - though keeping everything running is part of it. You will be designing and building new things from day one, working closely with the implementation team and directly with the founder on the problems that matter most.

What you'll do:

  • Build customisations within Sage Intacct using Java - custom objects, workflows, and platform-level extensions that go beyond standard configuration
  • Build and maintain integrations between Sage Intacct and third-party platforms such as Simpro, Procore, and other operational systems used by clients
  • Build custom applications for clients and the internal delivery team - tools that support implementation workflows, reporting, and day-to-day operations
  • Maintain all active integrations - monitor, debug, and update as client systems or platform APIs change
  • Develop data migration tooling that extracts, transforms, and loads financial data from Xero and MYOB into Sage Intacct
  • Contribute to AI-assisted workflows that automate implementation tasks such as configuration, data validation, and documentation
  • Write clean, well-documented code that the team can maintain and build on
  • Collaborate directly with implementation consultants to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Research and evaluate new tools and libraries that can improve delivery speed and quality

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience building software professionally, ideally with exposure to ERP or business systems
  • Java development experience - this is the primary language for Sage Intacct customisations
  • Strong experience with API integrations - specifically REST APIs and XML-based APIs. The Sage Intacct native API is XML - reading, writing, and debugging XML request/response structures is a core part of this role
  • Understanding of financial data structures in an API context - GL entries, AR/AP transactions, project dimensions, chart of accounts hierarchies
  • Experience shipping AI or LLM-powered tools in a production environment - not just experimentation
  • Financial curiosity - you do not need to be an accountant, but you need to care about understanding the business logic behind what you build
  • End-to-end ownership - you write the code, test it, deploy it, and take responsibility for how it performs
  • Interest in the construction industry and how project-based businesses manage their finances
  • Experience working with or for international or multinational organisations is a strong advantage

Non-negotiables:

Every role at LimeLedger requires the following. Please only apply if all four apply to you.

  • Australian business hours -This role works Sydney time. Nairobi is 7 hours behind Sydney in winter and 8 hours behind in summer. Your mornings are Australian business hours. Your afternoons and evenings are your own.
  • Reliable high-speed internet - Remote work at a professional standard requires a fast and stable internet connection. This is not negotiable.
  • Client-facing confidence - You will occasionally present technical work directly to clients. You need to communicate clearly and professionally at a senior level.
  • Strong English - written and spoken - All documentation, code comments, and team communication is in English. Written and spoken fluency is required.

What we offer:

  • Full-time employment based in Nairobi, Kenya
  • Health cover
  • Pension contributions
  • Performance bonuses tied to business performance and individual performance
  • Investment in your training and ongoing professional development
  • Statutory benefits (NHIF, NSSF, annual leave per the Employment Act)
  • 6-month probation period
  • Direct access to the founder and a genuine say in how the team develops
  • Work that matters - you will be a core part of the delivery engine, not a support function

How to apply:

Applications for this role are managed exclusively through Bridge Talent Group. Please submit your CV and a short cover note explaining why this role is a fit for you, and confirm that you meet all four non-negotiable requirements listed above. Your BTG contact will guide you through the next steps.
