Job Summary:
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to enhance test automation for a new pick/stow station program. This role is crucial for expediting software releases by developing robust automated tests that serve as quality gates for hardware deployed across numerous fulfillment centers. You will leverage AI-assisted development tools to maintain high velocity in authoring and maintaining tests, collaborating closely with QA and development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automated test cases in Java.
- Build tests for pick, ICQA, and stow workflows.
- Integrate automated tests into the release pipeline.
- Debug and resolve test failures efficiently.
- Utilize AI coding tools for rapid test development.
Must-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code), understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and modern AI concepts, with the ability to use agentic AI tools effectively in the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to design large-scale, object-oriented systems with a focus on scalability, APIs, data models, fault tolerance, and handling real-world scenarios (elevator systems, scheduling systems).
- Expertise in data structures and algorithms (especially graph algorithms like BFS), complexity analysis, edge-case handling, and clean problem-solving.
Industry Experience:
- Robotics, hardware-integration, or fulfillment-systems experience is preferred for this role, along with a Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.
