Lead the architecture and development of integrations between InsuranceNow and third-party systems commonly used in the insurance industry.
Design systems that can scale horizontally to support more Tier 1 and Tier 2 insurers, with clear focus on performance, resilience, observability, and operability.
Apply cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities (primarily on AWS; Azure or GCP experience also welcome) to build robust, automated environments.
Own CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for your services, ensuring high-quality, low-friction deployments.
Use Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage cloud resources in a repeatable and auditable way.
Troubleshoot complex production and pre-production issues across application, infrastructure, and data layers using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Follow and improve secure SDLC practices in partnership with InfoSec and other stakeholders.
Coach and mentor other engineers, providing technical leadership and helping the team deliver high-quality outcomes.
What you bring:
8+ years of overall software or infrastructure development experience, including at least 3 years building applications on cloud architectures.
Strong, hands-on experience with Java for backend application development, including object-oriented design and clean code practices.
Experience designing and building distributed systems and services, ideally with microservices or event-driven architectures.
Practical experience with at least one major cloud provider; AWS is highly preferred, but Azure or Google Cloud experience is also valuable.
Solid understanding of cloud-native concepts such as zero-downtime deployments, blue/green or canary releases, and promotion of code from QA to staging to production.
Strong knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases and how to model, query, and tune them for scalable systems.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation; experience with Chef, Ansible, or Puppet is also acceptable.
Demonstrated ability to design systems for scale, performance, reliability, and maintainability, especially in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
Proven logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues across multiple technical layers.
Experience owning and improving CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
Ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Proven ability to mentor others and provide technical leadership within an engineering team.
Bonus Skills
Experience building enterprise-grade integrations, including APIs, events, and messaging-based systems.
Familiarity with API design (REST, event-based) and experience consuming or exposing business/application events.
Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts (e.g., SSO, OAuth, SAML, role-based access control).
Experience in the P&C insurance domain or other complex, highly regulated industries.

Collegiality: We value strong teams and professional equality. We work together respectfully, welcome contrary opinions, and continuously improve our processes while maintaining a sustainable work–life balance.
Integrity: We insist on truthful, transparent relationships with customers, partners, investors, and each other in everything we do.
Rationality: We communicate through clear arguments and make decisions based on factual evidence. We prefer calm, systematic, thoughtful solutions, believe in testing, and constantly look for ways to improve how we build software.
