The Software Engineer role contributes to AAC’s mission to optimize performance, risk management, and operational excellence by designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise software systems. The position ensures that applications are scalable, reliable, and compliant with financial regulations across APAC.

The Software Engineer will report to the RAMS APAC Product Owner and be responsible for end-to-end design, development, migration, and optimization of critical clearing applications. This includes:

• Designing system architecture for applications across Linux, Windows, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and DB2 environments.

• Leading upgrades and migrations of legacy applications to modern frameworks (Java, Angular, Python, Perl).

• Ensuring integration, scalability, performance, and maintainability across APAC platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Software System Design & Architecture

o Design and implement robust, scalable software architectures for LCM applications.

o Evaluate and select frameworks, tools, and technologies to optimize system performance.

o Define database structures and interactions to support enterprise systems.

2. Development & Engineering

o Develop, test, and maintain software solutions in Java, Python, Perl, and Angular, aligned with architectural design.

o Apply engineering best practices (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Maven, Bootstrap CSS) to ensure maintainable and high-quality code.

3. Application Lifecycle Management

o Own the full software lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.

o Lead migration projects, upgrading legacy systems to modern platforms while maintaining system integrity.

4. Technical Leadership & Advisory

o Provide guidance to Product Owners and the RAMS team on system design, technical decisions, and software strategy.

o Evaluate software solutions for cost, risk, scalability, and integration into existing APAC systems.

5. Collaboration & Documentation

o Work closely with IT teams, Chapter Leads, and APAC CIO to maintain alignment between business needs and software architecture.

o Produce and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and user manuals.

6. Risk & Compliance Awareness

o Ensure all system designs meet regulatory, security, and operational risk requirements.

o Implement solutions to improve reliability, compliance, and performance of critical clearing systems.

Required Knowledge and Experience Education:

• IT-related university degree or equivalent.

• At least 2+ years in software engineering or system architecture roles.

• Experience in finance/clearing systems preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Software engineering and system architecture experience.

• Programming: Java (mandatory), Python/Perl, Angular.

• Frameworks: Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Maven, Bootstrap CSS.

• Databases: PostgreSQL, MS SQL, DB2, including design and optimization.

• Operating Systems: Linux, Windows, Unix.

• Lifecycle management, software engineering methodologies, test management, and IT governance.
