Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Testing Tech to join our Fibrebond team in Minden, LA!
You will work an average of 54 hours per week from 6 am - 4:30 pm, M-F.
There is overtime every other Saturday from 6 am - 2:30 pm.
The hourly rate for this position is $16.50 per hour.

What you’ll do:
The Testing Technician is responsible for inspecting & testing production processes and completed work to ensure products meet engineering, company, and customer specifications. This role verifies shelter builds against engineering drawings and Quality Travelers, documents discrepancies, and works cross‑functionally to ensure corrective actions are completed. The Testing Technician may support inspections & testing across multiple production areas and assist with training and coaching team members on quality & testing expectations.
In this function you will:
• Inspect & test production processes and finished units for compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and Quality Travelers
• Support commissioning for HVAC HMI/PLC programming, Li-ion Tamer testing, fire control operation, HVAC startup/troubleshooting, and loadbank KW set point control
• Support energized testing, including breaker operation with arc flash PPE, MCC/switchgear/VFD power-up, Prime PLC communication, UPS testing states, and OEM troubleshooting coordination
• Coordinate testing team activities, safety meetings, JHA/MOP completion, inspection communication, training, commissioning support, and reinforcement of quality, workmanship, and SOP expectations
• Perform inspections and audits to Quality Travelers, drawings, SOPs, L2 checklists, NEC requirements, and equipment documents; verify hold points, signoffs, acceptance criteria, hardware, buss bars, conduit fill, and documentation accuracy
• Inspect and test electrical integration work for torque, grounding, terminations, labeling, insulation, phase/voltage checks, High Pot/Meggar testing, wireway/cable tray installation, and grounding continuity
• Identify, document, contain, communicate, and escalate nonconformances; initiate hold or stop-work actions for safety, compliance, customer, or workmanship risks
• Process nonconforming material through DMR, including identification, tagging, segregation, review, disposition, resolution, and corrective action support using 8D, 5-Why, or A3 methods
• Record inspection and test results in Quality Travelers and daily reports to support NCR reporting, KPIs, trend analysis, QMS compliance, and audit readiness
• Support incoming, supplier, warranty, and field quality issues through inspection, documentation, escalation, investigation, and cross-functional communication
• Provide inspection support across multiple production areas as needed
• Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Experience in Level 2 electrical integration or equivalent electrical manufacturing experience ( 2 years)
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Minden, LA facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior quality inspection & testing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Electrical certificate, industrial electricity degree, or formal electrical training from an accredited institution
• Training in electrical safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, arc flash protection, and National Electrical Code standards
• Experience with building support systems, including HVAC, PLCs, fire control, off‑gas detection systems, Switchboards, and UPS operations
• Experience with nonconformance systems (DMR, CAR) and root cause analysis methods
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or QMS-based manufacturing environments
Skills/Poition Criteria:
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, bills of material, and applicable industrial trade standards
• Ability to use inspection, measurement, hand, power, and electrical troubleshooting tools, including tape measures, torque tools, gauges, and Fluke multimeters
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, stand, walk, and climb ladders for elevated inspections and repairs with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and seasonal temperatures
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety eyewear and steel‑toed boots
