VP, Python Engineer Blockchain Distributed Ledger Technology
Project Overview
The client's Distributed Ledger Technology team is seeking a Senior Blockchain Backend Engineer to help develop an industry-wide distributed ledger solution for the alternative investment ecosystem.
The platform is designed to facilitate access to private-market investments for advisors and their high-net-worth clients through innovative technology solutions.
The ideal candidate will be able to understand complex business problems, scope projects, identify business opportunities, optimize workflows, and communicate findings effectively across all levels of the organization.
This is a highly visible role involving close collaboration with Engineering, Product, senior leadership, and industry partners.
Candidates with blockchain or distributed ledger technology experience are preferred. However, strong Python Engineers may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a private, permissioned distributed ledger using DAML, Canton, and other open-source blockchain frameworks.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Provide technical leadership to motivate, guide, and mentor team members and junior engineers.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and peer code reviews as part of the standard software development lifecycle.
- Stay current with developments in blockchain and distributed ledger technology and incorporate relevant technologies into the iCapital ecosystem.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, senior leadership, and industry partners to support technology initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 9+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS and cloud-based solutions.
- 3+ years of technical leadership and management experience.
- Experience with DAML, Solidity, or other blockchain programming languages.
- Strong experience with Python and FastAPI.
- Experience building APIs for large-scale applications using AWS.
- Demonstrated understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling practices.
