TITLE: Senior Fullstack Developer (React/Node.js/Java Spring Boot) - Full Remote Portugal

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join a well-established, engineering-driven software consultancy known for its collaborative, politics-free culture built on lean principles and self-organisation. This is an opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled, autonomous team that values craftsmanship, ownership, and continuous learning over rigid hierarchy. You'll help build fluid, responsive user interfaces and resilient backend services for multiple platforms, solving complex technical problems to world-class standards. Occasional travel (0-15% of your time) may be required depending on the project and client needs.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll be embedded in a team responsible for the full software delivery lifecycle — from local development through to production — working on asynchronous, event-driven workflows and modern cloud-native services. The role spans both frontend and backend, requiring strong fundamentals across the stack, a testing-first mindset, and curiosity about containerization and modern DevOps practices. You'll work within agile teams (Scrum/Kanban), contributing to a codebase that prioritizes performance, security, and resilience.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required)

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks: React, Next.js, Node.js
• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and CDK/Serverless
• Solid knowledge of HTTP, REST, and/or GraphQL architectural patterns
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with service-oriented architectures, design patterns, and data structures
• Working knowledge of Git in a continuous delivery process
• Experience writing semantic, accessible HTML
• Comfortable using code quality tools (linters, type checkers, static analysers)
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Fluent in English (required)

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred)

• Exposure to containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience mentoring or supporting less senior engineers
• Prior experience in a consultancy or client-facing engineering environment

Compensation: €2,300 – €2,900/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
