Java Backend Developer – Healthcare Technology (Dev Ops & Cloud)
Location: Trivandrum, Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services for healthcare applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.
Implement and support healthcare interoperability standards including DICOM, HL7, and FHIR across integrated systems.
Design and build scalable, enterprise-grade applications using cloud-native architectures and best practices.
Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of backend services.
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system reliability and performance (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk).
Design and manage containerized deployments and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code practices (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
Collaborate with architects, Dev Ops engineers, and clinical stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and observable healthcare integrations.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration, performance, and infrastructure issues across connected healthcare systems.
Document code, integration workflows, infrastructure, and system architecture for maintainability.
Required Skills
Healthcare Domain Expertise: Experience with DICOM, HL7, FHIR, healthcare interoperability, and system integrations.
Backend: Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
Cloud: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, and networking services.
Dev Ops & CI/CD: Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, Git Lab CI).
Containers & Orchestration: Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application deployment.
Monitoring & Observability: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
Experience: 5+ years of development experience, including hands-on Dev Ops and cloud infrastructure responsibilities. Prior experience working on healthcare software, medical devices, diagnostic imaging, or digital health platforms is highly valued.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Good to Have
Cloud-Native Development: Exposure to scalable enterprise application development and cloud-native deployment strategies.
Site Reliability: Experience with SRE practices, incident response, and on-call rotations.
Security & Compliance: Familiarity with cloud security best practices and healthcare data compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
Medical Imaging: Familiarity with DICOM imaging and PACS ecosystems, including 2 D/3 D image visualization and processing concepts.
Leadership: Experience engaging with customers or leading technical workstreams within healthcare product teams.
