Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a growing technology company in the Indianapolis, IN area is seeking a Java Technical Lead to provide hands‑on leadership for a critical enterprise application platform. This role is ideal for a senior Java professional who enjoys architecting solutions, mentoring engineers, and driving software delivery while remaining actively involved in development. Remote candidates are welcome but must reside in the Indianapolis metro area and be available for occasional onsite meetings.

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures
  • Drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
  • Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, shared services, and microservices
  • Troubleshoot complex application and production issues
  • Establish engineering standards, code quality practices, and release processes
  • Mentor developers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical coaching
  • Support project planning, estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and engineering excellence

Requirements
  • Strong experience in Java application development
  • REST API and service development
  • Microservices and distributed systems
  • MySQL and MongoDB or similar
  • Kafka and Redis or similar
  • Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Application monitoring, logging, and production support

  • Ability to balance delivery priorities while protecting team health

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
