About Perceptyx
At Perceptyx, we help organizations see the employee experience more clearly. Our AI-powered continuous listening platform enables leaders to understand what matters most to their people and turn insights into meaningful action. We partner with the world's most innovative enterprises to drive transformation across engagement, performance, wellbeing, DEI, and change initiatives.
The Role
We're hiring a Software Engineer for our Integrations team, the team that builds and operates the layer connecting the We're hiring a Senior Software Developer for our Core Platform team, the team that builds the shared foundations every other engineering team at Perceptyx builds on top of. This is an individual contributor role with real organizational impact.
Platform engineering work is different from product engineering work: requirements are rarely handed to you fully formed, and the right answer is often "it depends on three other teams." We need someone who's genuinely curious about how the pieces fit together, comfortable operating without a finished spec, and willing to form and defend an opinion on where the line between "platform" and "product" should sit — then go make that case directly to the product engineering teams building on top of your work.
You'll also help shape how Perceptyx builds software in an AI-driven world. As AI-assisted development rapidly changes how software is written, tested, and delivered, we're intentionally bringing in engineers who can lead that transition, coach others, and raise the technical bar across the team.
This role partners closely with engineering leadership and serves as a force multiplier across the organization — setting standards, introducing modern practices, and influencing how we design, build, and scale the platform
What You’ll Do
Own the Platform Boundary: Work directly with Product engineering teams to define what should live in the platform versus in individual products, bringing a clear point of view — not just implementing what's requested, but shaping what gets built and why.
Navigate Ambiguity: Take on problems that arrive as open questions rather than finished requirements — competing constraints from multiple teams, unclear ownership, evolving priorities — and drive them to a sound technical direction.
Lead and Multiply: Act as a senior technical leader on the Platform team, coaching engineers and elevating modern software engineering and AI-first development practices across the organization.
AI-Driven Development: Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development, guiding the team on how to effectively and safely use AI for coding, testing, and delivery as tools and models rapidly evolve.
Architect and Build: Design, develop, and evolve scalable, high-performance frontend and backend systems and shared services using a modern full-stack approach.
Own Reliability: Set the operational bar for the platform every other team depends on: clean code, thoughtful reviews, test-driven development, and the instrumentation and runbooks that make failures visible and recoverable, with blast radius as a first-class design constraint.
Modernize Without Breaking Anyone: Evolve systems that are already carrying production traffic, migrating live services onto managed infrastructure, replacing aging components in place, and retiring legacy paths; while the teams building on top of you keep shipping.
Run What You Build: Share in on-call, production support, and incident response for the services the team owns. When something breaks, you're in it, and the follow-through that keeps it from happening twice is part of the job.
Scale and Optimize: Anticipate performance and scaling challenges, using monitoring and observability tools to drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate and Influence: Partner closely with Product and Design to deliver cohesive solutions and clearly communicate technical decisions across teams.
What You Bring
Senior Engineering Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, including system design, development, and testing of scalable, database-driven applications.
Platform Mindset: A curious, systems-level thinker who's comfortable with ambiguous or incomplete requirements, and who can form and articulate an opinion on what belongs in a shared platform versus a specific product.
Cross-Team Influence: Confidence engaging directly with Product engineering teams to negotiate scope, push back where needed, and align on platform direction — not just take requirements at face value.
Technical Leadership Mindset: A passion for coaching, influencing, and elevating other engineers through modern software engineering practices.
Backend Strength: Proficiency in Go and Python, with strong general-purpose backend fundamentals.
Frontend Fluency: Strong experience with JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React or Vue, along with solid HTML, CSS, and build tooling knowledge.
Data & Platforms: Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) databases, and comfort working across AWS (EKS/Kubernetes, ElastiCache/Redis), Terraform, and multi-region US/EU deployment.
AI-First Development: Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools like Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, with a strong point of view on prompt design, validation, and safe use of AI-generated code.
Reliability at Platform Scale: A track record of operating shared, multi-tenant services in production: migrating live systems without downtime, keeping configuration in parity across regions, and building the monitoring that catches a regression before a customer reports it. You treat detection and rollback as part of shipping, not as follow-up work.
Comfort With Long-Lived Systems: Experience improving and incrementally replacing systems you didn't build, where the constraint is that they can't stop working during the change. This role has real greenfield in it, but a meaningful share of the next year is modernization.
Identity, permissions, and multi-tenancy. Experience modeling identity, roles, and tenant isolation in a multi-tenant product, and the judgment to treat a permissions change as a security change.
Quality & Operations: Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and observability tools such as Datadog.
Communication & Judgment: Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate and lead across teams.
