About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Java Web Applications Developer to design, build, and maintain full-stack web
applications. You'll own features end to end — from server-side services in Spring Boot through to
responsive, user-facing interfaces — and help set the technical direction for the team. This is a senior
position: you'll mentor other developers, drive architectural decisions, and raise the bar on code quality and
delivery.
What You'll Do
Design and develop full-stack web applications using Java and Spring Boot on the backend and
Thymeleaf, React, and JavaScript/TypeScript on the frontend.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and server-side services that are performant, secure, and well
tested.
Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces, working across server-rendered (Thymeleaf) and
client-rendered (React) approaches as appropriate.
Lead technical design discussions and make architectural decisions for new features and services.
Mentor mid- and junior-level developers through code review, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to the full software lifecycle: requirements refinement, design, implementation, testing,
deployment, and support.
Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and fellow engineers within an Agile/Scrum
team.
Champion engineering best practices — clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, and continuous
improvement.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Java web
applications.
Deep expertise in the Spring ecosystem, especially Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring
Security).
Proven full-stack experience: server-side templating with Thymeleaf and modern frontend
development with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
Strong grasp of relational databases and SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle).
Hands-on experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Proficiency with Git and modern build tools (Maven or Gradle).
Experience with automated testing (JUnit, integration testing, and frontend testing frameworks).
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset.
Nice to Have
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Exposure to microservices architecture.
Experience with message queues or event-driven systems.
AI fluency - practical experience using LLM tools (Claude or any other) to accelerate development.
