Python / React Developer (AI Platform) – Anonymised Job Description
Context
A major European organisation operating critical infrastructure is looking for a Python / React Developer to strengthen an existing team working on an internal AI platform aimed at improving collaboration and communication between intelligent agents and users.
The successful consultant will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of modern AI-driven applications while ensuring high-quality software delivery and adherence to development standards.
Role Overview
The consultant will join an Agile development team and contribute to the design, development, deployment, and support of AI-powered solutions and related web applications.
The role combines backend development, frontend development, DevOps practices, and exposure to modern AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Build and enhance frontend user interfaces.
- Contribute to AI-driven solutions and agent-based architectures.
- Design and integrate scalable microservices.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Participate in CI/CD and cloud deployment activities.
- Ensure software quality through testing and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and team activities.
- Contribute ideas and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Requirements
AI & Intelligent Systems
Strong understanding of:
- AI agent development
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- AI platform concepts
Backend Development
Strong experience with:
- Python
- FastAPI
- REST API and service development
- RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologies
- SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent databases
- SQLAlchemy
- Security and authentication protocols:
- OAuth
- SAML
- Microsoft Entra ID (or equivalent identity providers)
- Automated testing using Pytest
AI Ecosystem (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with one or more of:
- LangChain
- LangGraph
- AI assistants / copilots
- Agent orchestration frameworks
DevOps & Cloud
Knowledge of:
- Containerisation technologies
- Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipelines
- Azure DevOps (or equivalent)
- GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
Frontend Development
Strong experience with:
- React
- JavaScript
- CSS
- Modern UI development practices
- Micro-frontend frameworks (e.g. NX)
Architecture
Desirable:
- Microservices architecture

Work Environment
- Hybrid working model.
- On-site presence required on a regular basis (approximately two days per week).
- Service delivery within Belgium.
- Valid Belgian work and residence authorisation required.
